What made you want to work at a winery?
I happened to stumble upon it. I had never thought of this line of work before as I have a background in the corporate world… but I started pouring in the tasting room and found I really loved everything about it and my position grew from there. It has been the one job I have ever held that has fed me spiritually and creatively while also providing a positive environment for my son to grow up in. He loves to come to the events and help with parking and security, and I love and appreciate that he is able to be a part of what I do.
What’s your favorite part about working at Campos Family Vineyards?
I love being a part of something so beautiful. We get to serve the community, and we provide a venue for people to spend time with their loved ones while being entertained and sipping on amazing wine. I love that the Campos family treat us and our families like their own.
What’s your favorite wine that we make and why?
Biggies Bourbon Barrel-Aged Zin is my favorite wine in our lineup. It is full-bodied, has that smoky bourbon flavor, and honestly tastes amazing with everything. I also love that it is something different that you don’t see in many other wineries locally.
What’s your favorite event that we host here and why is it your favorite?
The Christmas Tree Lighting for sure! While I love all of the summer concerts, there is something truly special about seeing 500 people from the community come here to celebrate Christmas with us outside in the freezing cold. There is a magic in the air and it is the perfect way to kick off the season. To see all of the kids pure excitement and joy when Santa Claus comes in and to hear everyone counting down for our tree to be lit.. it always makes me emotional. It also is the last event of the year for us, so there is a bit of bittersweet tied into it too.
What do your days off look like?
Spending time with my family. We have a 7 year boy who loves to play baseball. We also like to go camping a few times a year and hang out at home.
What’s the best customer interaction you’ve had since working here?
I have been here for 8 years so I have had MANY memorable customer interactions. In fact, by working here, I have met some amazing people that have become friends. I see so many familiar faces every Friday night at Wine Down Friday, and it is really great to be able to provide excellent service to make the experience memorable.
Which label design is your favorite?
It is a tie between Judah and Revival. Both labels have special meaning to the Campos family and are absolutely stunning. The wines taste great too! 🙂
